Biography

I was born and raised in Chicago.  I received my MFA in Printmaking from Ohio University in 2005 and a BFA in Printmaking from Bradley University in 2000.  Since receiving my MFA I have been making work in my studio in Chicago.  My work is included in both juried and invitational exhibitions nationally and internationally.  My prints are featured in several permanent collections including: Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, Wayne State University and the Dean of Arts & Sciences @ the University of Miami.

Statement

I’m interested in media and culture.  I do not feel I ever start with a ‘blank slate’ but rather my practice draws influence from television, current events and video games.  These mediums provide narratives that I can be tapped into and exploited. Specifically, I am attracted to violence, it depiction and its repercussions.
